visualization

i went back to the section about cross country skiing. this section talks about what you should have for gear, the skis/bindings and how to do it. while i was reading i could visualize somebody going cross country skiing though the woods. it's not as fun as downhill skiing, but cross-country skiing is still pretty cool.

visualization

i finished the book so i'm rereading some of the better parts of the book, i went back to touring skiing because it would be amazing to go tour a mountain on ski's. as i'm rereading i can visualize me skiing through waist deep champlain powder
(incredibly light powder, it is almost effortless to ski through) out in alaska somewhere, but until then i'll have to stick with Shawnee peak.

prediction

i went back to the freestyle section because i finished the book and i like the air more than the ground. in this section i was reading about jumps and things like that, so i started to think to myself that i should make a terrain park in my back yard. i have the train tracks which makes a pretty steep hill, i have some metal poles for a rail, i have most everything to make a box, and i can make a good jump really easily. i predict that next year i will make a pretty cool terrain park in my back yard.

prediction

right now I'm reading about the difference between a good skier and a bad skier. I have traits from both sides, like I'm a good skier because I alter my skiing technique on different terrain, but I'm a bad skier because I go in the valleys of mogul's instead of near the top of them. I think that next year I will work on doing mogul's

connection to your life

Im reading about different types of turns you can do. This connects to my life because I already know how to do some of the turns they talk about. I don't really understand some of the turns because they use terms that I'm clueless about, like schussing and the fall-line. I don't really need to learn how to do the turns because I don't plan on doing races or anything like that.

the complete skiing handbook

I can't believe it told me how to go deep powder skiing because deep powder skiing is really difficult with out the right technique. while I was at Saddleback with Alex he tried to tell me how ski deep powder but I couldn't get the hang of it. After reading this part I have a better understanding of what I need to do next year.

connection to the world

I'm reading about what your should wear when you are downhill skiing. this connects to the world because a lot of people don't know what to wear when they are skiing. this part says to wear clothing that is, water-repellent, allow ease of movement, insulate, and have an anti-skid texture ( so you wont slide down the mountain if you fall).

visualization

I'm reading about freestyle skiing right now. I could visualize somebody doing a backflip off of a jump. the section also tells you how to do 360's and other cool things

predicting

in my book I'm reading about touring skiing, which is hiking up a mountain and skiing your way down. this section tells you what to wear, how to train and prepare yourself physically and mentally, and what skiing techniques and skills you should have. I would like to do this down Mt. washington because I have already hiked it, I have most of the gear that I need, and I think I could do it. I want to tour Mt. Washington because there would be some great powder there because most of it is above tree-line, and it would be an amazing experience.

prediction

i'm reading the complete skiing handbook, right now i'm reading how to take proper care of my skies. i predict that i will try to wax and sharpen my skies by myself. in this section of the book it tells you what tools and materials you will need, what tools will make your life easier, and what tools and materials will be ideal. as far as i know i have what i need but it wont be that easy of a job.
